JOURNAL #2:  Julia Alvarez, “My English”.  How does Alvarez’ experience “landing in the English language” relate to your own experience? Bring it to class.

 

JOURNAL #3:  Write a letter to your classmate in response to his/her response to Journal #2 and bring it to class.

 

JOURNAL #4: Gloria Anzaldúa, “How to Tame a Wild Tongue”.  What is “voice” as defined by these chapters?  How are Anzaldúa’s voices different from one another and different from a “standard voice”?  What do these voices represent?  Do you relate to Anzaldúa’s argument?  Do you have different voices from one another and different from a “standard voice”? Explain with examples.
